Owned and operated by Karen and Jack Hooker, WTR Outfitters is one of Montana's oldest continually operating wilderness outfitting business, [since 1939], so there's no one who knows this wilderness better than we do. Our 1,100 acre ranch sits at the foot of the Bob Marshall and Scapegoat Wilderness Areas, right in the heart of Montana's Blackfoot River Valley.

Spring and summer are magical times in the Montana Rockies, and the best way to enjoy them is on a pack trip with horses. Relax your cares away as you experience the beauty and learn of the Wilderness wonders from the owners who have made it their life. Experience a roving summer trip, winding your way through the valley's, crossing rivers and over the mountains, camping in lush green meadows at night. Or come to our Nature Observation Base camp, exploring by day all of what nature has to offer and star guazing by the campfire.

In the fall, our hunting trips will take you to tent camps by horse and mules from 9 to 20 miles into the wilderness. There you will enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow hunters and the guides, while experiencing a great hunt. This area is home to almost every big-game animal in the Rockies.
In winter, we are blessed with lots of dry Rocky Mountain snow, plenty of sunshine, and bright, blue sky . . . along with enough recreational opportunities to satisfy everyone in the family
