Sunset Farmhouse

Sunset Farmhouse - Ovando - Chris Miller

Welcome to our Ovando home, in easy walking distance to the Ovando downtown metropolis. A place we like to call the Sunset Farmhouse. Come take a long break in a place that may seem like a step back in time, but with all the modern amenities that you would expect anywhere. We have come to love Ovando for so many things. Its open valley and completely peaceful feeling. The incredible views in all directions. The fact that most anything you may like to do outdoors, you can do here. Without the pressure and people like the rest of the world.

This is a newly finished two bedroom, two bath, NON-SMOKING home, with complete kitchen, wood burning stove, stereo, barbeque, TV (for DVD and VCR), free local calling (includes Missoula, Hamilton, Ronan, Seeley Lake and more), internet and wireless, rocking chairs on the deck, and the overall feeling of living in a time when life was not so pressing and stressful. We have come to love this area of Montana, for all it offers, and even more, for all it does not.

So come kick up your heels and relax, or jump on the many rivers and lakes and fish, go hiking in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, or hunting throughout the valley. Go bird watching, or wildlife viewing. Go for a swim at nearby Brown’s Lake, or try out some wind surfing. In the winter, there’s many snowmobile and cross-country ski trails nearby. Enjoy some time on the deck, taking in a sunset, rocking in the chairs, or watching a big thunderstorm rage over the Bob Marshall, in the warm and dry porch. And go outside at night (bundle up, even summer nights are usually cool here) and wonder at the amazement of the stars that go on forever. And if you really need to, you can shop till you drop in Missoula, just under an hour away.

And stop and spend some time to talk to the locals and visit downtown and the shops we have. Friendly and open, they are a wealth of local knowledge and stories, to help you better understand the place and enhance your visit.

There’s a 3 night minimum stay. Cost varies from $100 to $150 depending and day of the week and season with a $200 reservation/damage deposit. Discounts may be arranged for stays longer than 10 days, or for last minute bookings.
