Nestled at the end of the historical Trading Post, in what use to be home to Ovando's blacksmith you'll find the "Best little fly shop on the Blackfoot River", the Blackfoot Angler & Supplies. Carrying the largest fly selection from Great Falls and Helena to Missoula, the Blackfoot Angler is a must see stop for every fly fisherman experiencing the magic of the Blackfoot River area.
Owners Travis Thurmond and Kathy Schoendoerfer continue to expand the little shop which has sustained its old western atmosphere, offering Orvis, Simms, and Redington and Fly Logic rods and reels; Tibor reels can be ordered. Hunting and fishing licenses and everything ever thought of by fly fisherman is available at the Blackfoot Angler, from magnifying glasses to lip balm, from nippers to waders. They offer many fly patterns, most of which are specific for the Big Blackfoot.
Travis is an accomplished guide in the region, working for Paul Roos Outfitters. His patience and attention has made him a popular teacher. Advanced reservations are required.
